Many drivers in the Columbia area purchase extended warranties for the coverage and overall peace of mind that they provide. Luckily, there are many Ford warranty plans from Ford Protect that you can choose from–making it easy to choose a plan that suits your needs and budget.

Read on to learn more about the ins and outs of Ford warranty coverage, and the benefits that you’ll be afforded even after your 3-year/36,000-mile Ford factory warranty and 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty expire.

Ford Protect Extended Service Plans

Red Bud commuters can choose from four available Ford Protect Extended Service Plans, with each one increasing in price and offer coverage for more components for your new Ford vehicle:

  • PowertrainCARE: This plan covers 29 components within the engine, transmission, RWD, and FWD. While some components within these systems will not be covered, all of the major ones are.
  • BaseCARE: The BaseCARE Service Plan increased the number of covered components to 84. This includes the same components as the PowertrainCARE plan, as well as steering, brakes, front suspension, A/C and heating, and electrical components. Again, certain aspects will not be covered, such as the anti-lock brake module.
  • ExtraCARE: With this Ford extended warranty, you’ll get 113 components covered which includes everything in the above plans, with additional coverage for your tech and convenience features. This plan covers essentials such as your keyless entry and power window motors. However, it does not cover technologies like Ford SYNC® or rain sensing wipers.
  • PremiumCARE: The PremiumCARE plan covers over 1,000 components of your Ford, meaning, anything that isn’t covered in the other three plans will be covered here.

Ford Protect Premium Maintenance Plan

When your 5-year/60,000-mile Ford Powertrain Warranty runs out, you don’t have to worry about routine maintenance thanks to the Premium Maintenance plan. With this plan, oil changes and filter replacements, multi-point inspections, and tire inspections/rotations are covered. Plus, you’ll be able to replace items that have endured wear and tear.
