The F-250 towing capacity ranges from an impressive 12,500 pounds to a staggering 22,800 pounds when equipped with a fifth-wheel/gooseneck trailer.

However, these numbers vary slightly depending on the type of engine you choose, from the 6.2L V8 to the 6.7L V8 Turbo-Diesel. Ford F-250 Specs and Engines Power

The 2022 F-250 towing capacity is made possible by three different engines: a 6.2L V8, a 7.3L V8, and a 6.7L V8 Turbo-Diesel. These engines each offer a maximum towing capacity of 20,000 pounds, but their 5th wheel/gooseneck towing numbers vary slightly between configurations and can reach up to 22,800 pounds. 7.3L 2V DEVCT NA PFI V8 engine with 10-speed automatic transmission

  • 430 hp
  • 475 lb-ft of torque
  • 21,800-pound standard GCWR with SRW and 3.55 axle ratio
  • 26,000-pound maximum GCWR with SRW and 4.30 axle ratio
  • Max towing capacity (standard): 15,000 pounds 
  • Max towing capacity (5th wheel/gooseneck): 19,500 pounds 

6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel engine with 10-speed automatic transmission

  • 475 hp
  • 1,050 lb-ft of torque
  • 23,500-pound standard GCWR with SRW and 3.31 axle ratio
  • 30,000-pound maximum GCWR with SRW and 3.55 axle ratio
  • Max towing capacity (standard): 15,000 lbs
  • Max towing capacity (5th wheel/gooseneck): 22,800 pounds
